TypeACeleb Contest Begins!

Hear ye, hear ye: The first ever TypeACeleb Contest officially begins today! We are very excited to offer one lucky lady the opportunity to attend the TypeAParent Conference in Asheville, NC. Over the next two weeks we will be scrutinizing 33 women, challenging them in various areas of social media and judging them in order to determine which one has what it takes to be a celebrity at this year’s TypeAParent Conference. Here is the run down of what to expect, but be prepared for the unexpected as well. You never know what will happen!

• The contest runs from March 7th to March 18th.
• There are 33 contestants.
• The contestants are required to complete various challenges and tasks.
• Only one person will win.
• This winner will be selected by a panel of 6 impartial judges.
• The winner will receive a ticket to TypeAParent Conference, 100 custom business cards, a custom t-shirt, transportation from the airport to the hotel (if needed,) personal conference prep and assistance by Kadi Prescott and dinner out on the town one evening during the conference weekend.

And here is the contest itinerary:

March 7th-10th:  Blog Day. Simple enough, right?  Write a post explaining why you are meant to win the #TypeACeleb contest. Be creative, outshine the competition in your petition to the masses. Here are a few ideas to get you started: Convince us that you are celebrity material. Tell us what you would do if you were a celebrity for a day. Tell us which celebrity you are most like and why. Send us the link to your post at smmoms@gmail.com.

March 10th-11th: Facebook Day. Complete the following tasks on Facebook: “Like” the TypeAParent Conference. Leave a note to Kelby on the page telling her why you are hoping to win this contest. Make sure that you link to your blog post on the official Conference page so that everyone can read about your reasons for wanting to win.

March 12-14th: YouTube Day. Interview with you. That’s right. Interview yourself. Print out a picture of  yourself, use a photo or drawing. Then ask yourself provocative questions and answer them as you. Crazy? A little. But all celebrities are crazy…some more than others. Make sure that you properly tag your video with TypeAParent Conference. Then send us your video link: smmoms@gmail.com.

March 15-17th: Whrrl Day. Create a Whrrl story. Pick any location around your town and start a Whrrl story. Story telling is all talent that all celebrities posses. Tell us a story that will grab our attention and keep us entertained. Include pictures, text and a great story line. Make sure that you tag it, of course. Then send it to us.

March 18th: Twitter Day: Join us for a Twitter party at 6pm PST/9pm EST. #TypeACeleb party will be the culmination of the contest. It will be a time to recap the challenges, recognize the contestants for all of the hard work that they did and most of all, announce the winner of the TypeACeleb contest. Invite your friends to join us for this celebration and make sure to thank Kelby and our contest sponsors for helping to make this possible!

Each challenge must be completed by midnight of the last date listed for each. Those who fail to comply will be disqualified. All contestants  grant Social Media Moms and the contest judges, permission to share their contest related content and post it on this site. A copy of the official contest rules will be emailed to each contestant and agreed upon in order to be eligible to win.  Good luck to all contestants!
